because you shouldn`t close your apps

because you shouldn`t close your apps
because you shouldn`t close your apps. Closing apps in the app switcher and then reopening them will use more recourses. The only time you should force close an app is if it doesn`t work properly.

An app takes all the ram it needs, not just a tiny bit, tiny bit takes an app that is closed by ios. Next time you want to open it, will use the same resources as if you force closed it yourself.

Sometimes is good to close them all. What happens is youll run very fast out of ram and ios will keep clearing it for your next app, so youre constantly out of ram basically. But if you do this its important to disable background refresh i think.

Thats a great argument against the iPhone. I always thought it was ridiculous that I had to stare at an app or ios would jettison it. Its 2022 phones arent what they used to be they are general computer devices Samsung treats them that way apple still treats them as consoles.

Nope...you should close all ur apps when going to sleep as it will reduce battery drain

It helps on devices with low memory. When I open my password manager to copy something, the app I used previously immediately gets OOM killed unless I close all background apps beforehand.

I think u mistaken close tabs with force close i have to do it otherwise my phone goes really warm

is correct, you can read more about it here: I never understand why people keep bringing up that those apps take up resources. Thats true, but RAM is there to be used - constantly wanting it to be empty is just a waste of hardware. Also most devices have high efficiency cores, so may as well use them. Closing apps is dumb.

That makes perfect sense.

@sajid84_ when both are optimised of course. It`s really not a huge deal. Seems like a big thing on paper, but how often are you exporting stuff that you won`t leave the app for? How often are you downloading large files to your device when the OS hates external files.

Nah man you gotta stop defending this useless ram management. it`s not "managing" ram if its just shutting down everything except for the foreground app. That makes the ram useless. New phones have a lot of ram so that they can have stuff running in the background, no to close...

See that`s the huge flaw in iOS. Yk how every tech reviewers raves about how unbeatable iOS`s ram management is? That`s just some bullshit. iOS ram management is terrible. Multi-tasking doesn`t exist in iOS. If you even post an IG story and leave the app while it`s still ...

@sajid84_ It`ll potentially make their experience worse which is something Apple hates. They don`t want you to go over to Android. That`s why they throttled old devices to make the battery last longer between chargers so you don`t upgrade phones, potentially away from iOS.

@sajid84_ there was an option to close all, people would do that often, which means that they`ll relaunch apps more often. Uses more recourses. And the main problem with that is old iOS devices with old batteries.

Yeah that`s correct. I was talking about the android close all button tho. But yeah idek why apple couldn`t do it like android, let users close the recent apps without the app being force closed.

@sajid84_ Apple at least refer it as force closing the app in their Support channel on YouTube.

IT`S NOT, on Android atleast. Here`s an example: open your music player and play a song. If you close the app this way the music won`t stop in the background, but if you force close the app it will. But to have obscure apps that you rarely ever use, why have it sitting there in the background to use 3 weeks later? To save maginal resources on a reload? If it a commonly used apps then there`s validity to that, hence locking open.

Lmao its funny how you pretend to know what you`re talking about, yet you have no idea. The close all button on android doesn`t force close apps. There`s a difference between force closing and just closing. To force close an app on android, you have to go to app settings and ...

@Creggory and even then, if you know that they work differently, you should also be against the idea of IOS having a close all button

You need to watch Gary`s video on how it actually works. This isn`t something Android as a default does. You have companies like Samsung that suggest apps that should sleep, and suggest apps that should go in Deep sleep. If you don`t do this then it will consume resources.

Then take your phone back from whoever is saying those things. like it`s right here You can have a whole torrent app running in the background on Android. That`s not what you said.

It`s literally isn`t...

Apple pauses apps immediately when you go into the task switcher. Android does not. It is the reason you can still upload on Instagram, post a tweet or upload a file to the cloud when an app is the background. Something that iOS does not do.

They don`t know lol

Haha my bad my bad but clearly you do not know How background running apps drain your battery, If you have A high res game e.g PUBG running in background, it "will" cost you your battery but if you close it than it can save your mAh.

Why humans like this existgod help us all

And what`s wrong in giving that option? Someone will use, someone won`t, their phone their choice... Because aPpLe KnOwS wHaTs BeSt FoR tHeIr CuStOmErS, right? What a pathetic excuse :v

tbh the difference is incremental, like using dark mode if you have an OLED. Technically it does save battery but not by that much for you to really care

Ofcourse u say that when android has a feature that iphones dont

iOS is tRaSh

Would be useful for an app by app basis on iPadOS though

Not as often as iOS

iOS freezes the background app but Android doesn`t that`s why iPhones need less ram that Android

I close them for memory sake, as I do reach that problem sometimes, & if there`s too many it takes lots of waste time just scrolling to get in the right app

You made no sense

WRONG. When I feel my phone is working slow, I just clear all recent apps expect WhatsApp. Phone just start working fast. My phone has 6GB ram.

Here is a fact- If you clear app card from the recents that doesn`t mean the app is actually closed on Android.

Yes it uses more resources if you close an app and then immediately open it again but closing all apps if you aren`t gonna be using them for some time uses less resources

I download stuff in background on my android device. When I close the app, the download stops and when I don`t close it, the download continues. You should try using 2-3 Android devices before giving these opinion.

Not temporarily they if u put something on download for like 3-4 hours it will continue to run in the background (the more apps u open they will continue to run) .the apps are never put into sleep automatically they always ask for permission at least on my device.

That`s just a bs excuse for not having such a feautre

iPhones hv better ram management, cant compare both Also, having heavier apps in ram can tank speed and battery

@sethstarktech *upload or similar

Well then it`s new information for me..

No, they don`t..by sleep u mean they are completely inactive and don`t do anything right? For me, they continue to run like if I am uploading something on drive or photos or downloading they will run in the background unless I close them ..they ask for permission to put to sleep

@Smitshah98 very low capacity batteries.

@sethstarktech CPU, network and much more RAM to launch it. Doing it over and over again instead of letting it be in sleep mode will drain more battery. It`s literally how both iOS and Android works, both Apple and Google have said it.

Apple used to have a bad battery even with that option before, with their iPhone X. U r being very biased rn, kid

Nope closing all apps is great.I do it all the time..saves ram and resources..also if u don`t close all the apps they continue to run in the background like Google photos or any other app which will drain battery ..at least in android I guess

That`s not the reason why ppl use apple products tho. Ppl tolerate apple`s flaws, because of its quality performance. If apple starts making slower products, ppl won`t buy them anymore.

@Smitshah98 frequently reopen their apps, use more resources and therefore use more battery resulting in a worse user experience. Plus, what about people with old phone and shit batteries? They`ll be even more affected, again even worse user experience.

Ehhh, sometimes if there`s a lot of apps in the bg, phone slows down (I have seen this iphones too). So, it would easier to `close all`

It does down from 4GB of memory to 2GB of memory confused for me atleast That`s half my RAM free

Nop. You can check the background data usage. App will take bg data more if you put in bg. If i won`t use an app for next few hr. Then closing that app is better. It won`t take more power to start again. But it will take more resources if i put in bg.

Barely. And that`s not a thing to be proud of

@yesitsyouandme CPU, network and much more RAM to launch it. Doing it over and over again instead of letting it be in sleep mode will drain more battery.

How does keeping few options improve user experience?? People are gonna close apps anyway if they want to so I don`t get your point. If protecting battery is what Apple is doing then they shouldn`t allow closing apps at all

When a app in background. It consume RAM, mobile data, etc. if i closed 20 app in BG that i won`t use next 1 hr. It will give less effort to processor, ram, etc. Guess if you put all that 20 app in bg. It will take more resources than me.That give more stress to both h/w & s/w

imho, i have a habit of closing them all because it looks cleaner, and less for the supposed "resource boost" that people claim it`s for.

I wasn`t targeting you in particular. But this is what I`ve seen in general.

And what about those people who want to close all apps? Adding that one option won`t hurt Apple

When a feature isn`t there in Apple. Sheeps - We don`t need it.

Bruh what. You should close your apps at least once a day or once every 2 days

A liner excuse. If you leave these app open they will run in background and that will also use some power. So it will lead to personal preference.

Its been 3 to 4 years since i didnt clear the recent every time I dont use the app. I only clear the app when it behaves weirdly

Well people dont need to close all apps in processes. Cuz how efficient iOS is

That`s fine but when you close all, youre removing stuff from your memory which takes up less resources anyways. You`re not closing an app to reopen it again lol

I leave apps that I use a lot open, but if its something like twitter or another app that I dont need very frequently or YouTube or whatever else then I close them.

One exception to this would be to conserve battery life

You justify the name memeboi. You are Nothing less than a meme. Next target defend Shitphone SE 3`s 4.7 ichh 800p LCD Display

Isheep spotted!!!! Covering up Apple`s Bullshit with sand. Nice work MEMEBOI

Same I dont need that button at all I know I would develop the habit of closing apps all the time, which is not recommended on iOS according to Apples own user manual Having the option for those who want it for whatever reason is fine, but I want a way to disable it too

?? Users` choice doesn`t matter? LOL

its muscle memory and it makes me easier to switch between apps

Thats not force closing thats just a standard quit of the application. You have to go into app settings to do a force close. I think this feature should be in IOS the old app switcher from IOS 6 was horrible, and it got better but still no close all option is just silly.

So being in sleep mode makes impervious to to a malicious attack. Idk about that.

But couldn`t this comprimise privacy and security in some instances?

It`s people`s choice

That`s not a justification. A lot of people still prefer closing all the apps

I always close all my apps lol

Ive never unnecessarily closed an app on my iPhone/iPad ever since I got them. First: waste of time and stressing to think about that. Second: not needed.

I have successfully taught 2 of my colleagues to not close their apps. W

Thats where I disagree

Ive gotten a habit of closing the apps when I dont use them haha
