WLAN Expansion bietet folgende Funktionen: -Suche nach verfugbaren Adaptern und drahtlosen Netzwerken -Verbindung zum gewahlten Netzwerk, Erstellung von Ad-hoc-Netzwerken -Unterstutzung von allen Verschlusselungsarten: WPE, WPA, WPA-PSK, WPA2, WPA2-PSK Umfangreiche Assistenten: -Startassistent: hilft bei der Verbindung mit einem bestehenden Ad-hoc-Netzwerk oder beim Erstellen eines eigenen Netzwerks. Drei Verbindungsarten werden dabei angeboten: -Internetverbindung - nachdem alle Einstellungen vorgenommen wurden pruft der Assistent, ob eine Internetverbindung besteht -LAN-Verbindung - der Assistent hilft unter anderem, die Einstellung der Freigaben vorzunehmen, um den Datentransfer zwischen den Rechnern im LAN zu ermoglichen. Diese Einstellungen konnen in einer Datei gespeichert werden -Verbindung - die gespeicherten Einstellungen werden eingelesen und eine Verbindung wird eingerichtet -Positionierungsassistent: ermittelt den optimalen Aufstellort von kabellosen Geraten und Antennen -Datenverkehr-Assistent: legt die Beschrankungen beim Datentransfer fest Beim Uberschreiten der Einschrankungen lost das Programm Alarm aus -Sniffer-Tool: spurt alle verfugbaren Drahtlos-Netzwerke auf und stellt diese mit den wichtigsten Informationen zu Vergleichszwecken anschaulich in Listenform dar -Windows Tweaks-Tool: andert interne Betriebssystemparameter, die die Produktivitat und Funktionalitat des Netzwerks beeinflussen -Hotspots-Datenbank: enthalt Hotspots aus aller Welt.
